The idea is that there are structured ways for students to ask
questions and for staff to answer. It's a bit like OLC, but
integrated into the Web so that access is controlled.
This is begin used right now with a large class. In order to protect
students' privacy, they don't want to give external access to that.
However, there is a mock-up that that we can look at that has samples
from the class with student names removed . You can find it at
http://www.cs.cornell.edu/Info/People/dph/annotation/annotations.html
Owe of the things not shown here is that course notes and homework
assignments are also on the Web, and that the annotation sample you are
looking at is integrated in with the problem set as it is published on
the Web.
