Andy Stark, and undergraduate working in my group at the AI lab, did
an impressive piece of educational software for crystallography this
summer, in a project supervised by Jim Miller.

The program, accessible over the Web, lets you play around with the
crystallographic point groups. It's an interesting combined use of
the Web, Scheme, and Maple.

You can find this at

http://www-swiss.ai.mit.edu/~astark/crystal.html

In order to run the program, the software needs to be able to run
Maple on your machine. If peopl want, I can arrange for Andy and Jim
to give a demo.
