This is volume III of 'A Selection of Scotch, English, Irish and Foreign Airs
adapted for the Fife, Violin or German Flute, Printed and Sold by I.A. Aird,
Glasgow". I believe it was published in 1780/1781.
Thanks to the Museum of the Kings Own Regiment, in Lancaster, for having it
and for their permission to put it out on the 'net; and thanks to Andy
Hornby for finding it, photocopying it and passing it on to me.
Transcription - I have tried to preserve all original spellings, notes, slurs,
markings (speed, dynamics) and other comments. All N: lines are notes from
the original manuscript. Beamings do not appear to be consistent in the
original, so I haven't attempted to reproduce them. Repeat markings also don't
appear to be consistent - a '<A part> :: <B part> |]' construction is very
common. I have assumed a 2nd part repeat or not, depending on relative lengths.
